Education Specialist Student Teacher, Sequoia Elementary School (Grades 2-5) Jan. 2023-June 2023

• Administered normed assessments such as the Woodcock Johnson-IV to evaluate students' cognitive abilities, academic skills, and progress over time.

• Developed Individualized Education Plans (IEP) in collaboration with students, families, and other educational professionals to support students with disabilities in accessing their education.

• Designed and delivered a professional development session for facutly and staff on effective Universal Design for Learning (UDL) lesson planning, receiving positive feedback from attendees.

• Developed and implemented a behavior management plan, through Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) that effectively reduced disruptive behavior in a 3rd-grade class, resulting in 60% fewer incidents of classroom disruptions over the course of two months.

• Established a positive and inclusive classroom culture through the use of restorative practices and community-building activities, such as morning circles, contributing to a supportive classroom environment. 

• Assessed student learn ing through a variety of methods, including formative and summative assessments, to monitor student progress, adjust instruction accordingly, and provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
